Steve accepts a cheque for $10,000 from the Mayor of Gosford City Council for a production of Macbeth on the sands of Terrigal Beach.

Steven Hopley
Artistic Director and Founder,

Steve is known to Central Coast audiences for his performances in Henry V, The Wizard of Oz, Equus, Lamb of God and to CCSC regulars as Sir Andrew Aguecheek in Twelfth Night and Tate Worth in I, Andromeda.

In February 2005, Steve won Best Director at the largest short play festival in the world, Short & Sweet. In 2004, he won the Best New Writer award at the same festival.

He has had an original composition performed by the Central Coast Symphony Orchestra, his play The Manor Comedy was produced to high acclaim at The Lighthouse Theatre in Sydney,and has even hosted a film program on local station 2CCC FM.

In fact, there aren’t many hats that Steve hasn’t worn! A tireless worker and perfectionist, Steve adapts and edits performance texts of Shakespeare to make CCSC productions original and unique.
